THE Trainers
Alison Hawkins
Alison has been teaching Yoga for over 20 years. She has worked in Gyms and Fitness centres through out London before opening her own studio with Oskar Nery 2006. Alison is very passionate about teaching dynamic styles of Yoga that improve fitness whilst having fun. Her main teaching styles are Vinyasa Flow, Astanga Vinyasa, Fly Yoga, and Restorative styles. Alison likes to keep her yoga teaching safe and accessible for all ages and body types. Empowerment is key aspect of her teaching style.
In addition to teaching Alison is an accomplished studio manager and events co-ordinator. She also has designed and taught a number of Yoga Teacher Trainings and Fly Yoga Teacher Trainings in Asia.
Oskar Nery
Oskar has been practicing yoga since 1970s when he was a child. He has been teaching since 2006. His main practices have been the more dynamic physical practices of Astanga Vinyasa, Vinyasa Flow and Power Yoga. More recently he has been studying Yoga Therapy, studying to keep a physical practice more age appropriate avoiding the many issues of injury that come when too focussed on strong physical practices. He is also a qualified Personal Trainer. He has also spent a number of years practicing Mahasi Style Vipassana, a breath and movement based Buddhist practice used to keep one present and connected in the moment.
Oskar believes that an intelligent yoga practice avoids injury and promotes healthy functional movement in the long term for all ages. He has significant experience working with clients with injuries, recovering from illness, managing long term anxiety and stress related issues.
Oskar and Alison also have a lot of very practical and strong studio management experience, including events planing, staff training, hosting visiting teachers, promotion and marketing. They have organised and taught on Yoga Activity Retreats. Designed, and facilitated Yoga Teacher Trainings, developed Life Skills Training using Yoga for NGOs in Cambodia.
